This December, fans will see the release of the final chapter of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, and to commemorate the four decades of this favored and timeless franchise, Adidas has collaborated with Lucasfilm to bring the Adidas x Star Wars 2019 collection. This upcoming capsule collection will feature three different packs across the Adidas Basketball, Running, and Originals line.
For the last 40 years, Star Wars has produced countless books, animated TV shows and films, video games, and 11 live-action movies. To commemorate its history, Adidas’ three packs will signify and celebrate iconic elements from the franchise. The three different sets will include the Lightsaber-themed pack, Space Battle pack, and the Characters Pack.
The Lightsaber pack, which will launch on November 1st, is designed for the basketball players who rely upon the shoes that they wear. The designs are inspired by the bond between a Jedi and their lightsaber, with each one highlighted by Kyber crystal-themed elements, which can be seen on each silhouette’s UV midsole. The pack will include eight custom basketball shoes, hoodies, crewnecks, and sweatpants.
The latest Harden Vol. 4 will be lined with purple accents which pays homage to Mace Windu. The Dame 5 will take its inspiration after Luke Skywalker’s famed green lightsaber, while the Crazy 1 and Rivalry Lo silhouettes embrace the dark side, giving its homage to Darth Vader. The classic Top Ten silhouette comes in to embrace the legendary Jedi hero and mentor for Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The collection will also include the D Rose 10 and a juniors edition of the D.O.N. Issue #1, as well as the Adidas Pro Next, which will feature characters from both the light and dark side of the force. Unique and intricate detailing will be featured throughout each silhouette, which will include Aurebesh callouts and official written systems of the galaxy stamped on the footwear.
The Lightsaber-themed pack hits Adidas.com and select Adidas stores on November 1st, with price points ranging between $70-$140. It will be followed by the Space Battle pack that launches on November 21st and the Characters pack releasing on November 29th.
