Today they have announced the launch of their premium bone conduction sunglasses, OptiShokz Revvez on Indiegogo. The Revvez is a pair of sunglasses that are designed for outdoor enthusiasts, which allows them to maintain their awareness of their immediate surroundings, all while still being able to listen to their favorite music, podcasts, and make/take calls.
While wearing a pair of Revvez, the sound will be delivered through transducers located inside the temple arms. These transducers will lead mini vibrations directly to cochlea bypassing the eardrums completely. This makes the Revvez the first and only sunglasses that have transducers that allow sound to transmit through the cartilage behind the ear, which will provide the best bass response and volume. The design for the Revvez was thoroughly crafted to provide maximum comfort while giving its users the best open-ear audio experience. The frame utilizes TR-90 plastic for strength, flexibility, and impact resistance. It has an adjustable, two-position titanium temple arm that will give the frames a secure fit and optimal placement for the bone conduction transducers. Each pair will include three silicone rubber nose pads for a more perfect and comfortable fit. It will come in four different colors, including a polarized option. The lenses will have an anti-scratch coating and will be smudge resistant.
The team that is behind the OptiShokz Revvez has over 200 patents that are related to their bone conduction technology. Incorporating technologies such as their PremiumPitch+ will allow for dynamic sound and deeper bass, while their LeakSlayer technology will solve the issues pertaining to natural sound leakage. The Revvez will also feature dual-noise canceling microphones that will eliminate and external noise while enhancing speech volume for crystal clear calls on both ends.
