‘I want to live in your mouth’ is a new immersive theatrical nightmare in LA

I want to live in your mouth immersive theaterical nightmare

There’s a new horror and immersive theatrical show coming soon to Los Angeles called “I want to live in your mouth.” (Yes, the rest is in lowercase and the period is part of the title.) It’s a 20-minute show inspired by your childhood nightmares featuring puppet creatures. I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it, especially since you will have to go at it alone. That means no groups.

The horror show is said to feature creature puppetry, illusions and cinematic dread and is inspired by the mysterious monsters from your childhood. Once a nightmare fantasy becomes reality, these creatures are the ones hiding inside your closet, under your bed, and pretty much where the shadows lie.

There are all types of immersive horror experiences like Delusion and The Tension Experience, and most of them have you going in small groups. There are a few that makes you go by yourself, like Blackout and Mckamey Manor; however, the latter gets a lot of flak for being more of a torture experience. With “I want to live in your mouth.”, one person will go in at a time with a 20-minute up-close experience.

Synopsis: Each guest will be invited to join a troubled individual reliving a vivid looping memory of the day new visitors came calling to their childhood home. Hiding within the surreal spaces of I want to live in your mouth. are a collection of unforgettably nightmarish residents, realized by a group of world-renowned creature makers whose names must be kept secret for their safety…and for yours.

The show is brought to you by writer/director David Ruzicka and creative producer Eric Vosmeier, who both have backgrounds in themed entertainment, theatrical craft and experiential design. Together, they have a team of technical experts, environmental storytellers, and immersive theatrical performers.

Other than that, there’s not a lot of information about what’s actually in the show since the creators want you to be surprised.

Writer David Ruzicka elaborates, “It’s like buying one ticket at the state fair for a midnight ride on the ghost train. I wondered what would happen when you combine the intimacy and unpredictability of a solo guest experience with the dark, seductive magic of creatures, fantasy, impossible things. So that’s the road we’re taking visitors down. We hope to reawaken the spirit of their childhood imagination and fears.”

To give you an idea on the intensity of the show, you’ll need to 18 or older and it will features strobe, light haze, kneeling/crawling, physical contact and manipulation. What’s interesting is that the team has partnered with OA Experiential, an event marketing company that worked on FXhibition at San Diego Comic-Con, which had one of our favorite activations.

“I want to live in your mouth.” is set to run for 6 weeks from March 28 to May 5, with April 4th being the official opening. It will be held at ZJU (a.k.a Zombie Joe’s Underground), 4850 Lankershim Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91601. The ticket can be pricey for a 20-minute experience since each is $47.50.
