The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is almost upon us. HBO released a previous trailer that was very teaserific, and today, fans have been blessed with another trailer that actually shows footage. The Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer doesn’t reveal much, but we get to see the main characters back and preparing for war.
Arya looks to be very frightened, so you know she’s dealing with something menacing. We have a few shots of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, and this should definitely make fans of the two being together very happy. Of course, Cersei is always looking displeased. Jamie Lannister promises to fight for the living, so does this mean he’ll actually be siding with Jon and Daenerys? The trailer ends with all the different soldiers standing together in battle formation, getting ready for the arrival of the Night Walkers.
In the last season, Jon and Daenerys form a bond together and hope to prevent the onslaught of the Night Walkers. They ask for the aid of Cersei, but we know she’s got other plans in mind. We’ll find out soon if the alliance will be enough to wipe out the army of the dead.
David Benioff and D. B. Weiss are the showrunners for Game of Thrones, which is based on “A Song of Ice and Fire” books by George R. R. Martin. Season 8 will contain only six episodes, unlike the regular 10 episodes from the previous seasons and 7 episodes for season 7. Season 8 will be similar to season 7 since both seasons have continued on without a book for adapting. Martin is known for taking a long time to finish his books.

Game of Thrones’ eighth and final season premieres on April 14, 2019.
