The first trailer for the third season of Santa Clarita Diet is here, and just in time for Valentine’s Day. Keeping with the theme of true love, despite all obstacles, the trailer remixes traditional marriage vows into a more accurate depiction of the Hammonds’ love — despite zombification. The renewal was announced back in May after the second season found the Hammonds trying to adapt to Sheila’s now-advanced undead state — even though she’s desperately working to hold on to her suburban lifestyle and not be defined as just another monster. Unfortunately — while the family had become markedly better at murder — the number of missing people in Santa Clarita is starting to pile up and it’s no longer going unnoticed.
The series stars Drew Barrymore (Blended, 50 First Dates) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Deadwood) as lovebirds Sheila and Joel Hammond. Through it all, the couple remain grounded by their unconditional love for one another. Sure, being undead — or loving someone who is — isn’t always easy, but don’t all relationships have their challenges?
Santa Clarita Diet season 1 and season 2 are available for streaming on Netflix now, and season 3 will premiere on March 29.
