Timothy Simons to write & star in comedy Exit Plans for HBO
Timothy Simons (Veep) is set to star in and write an upcoming comedy series titled Exit Plans for HBO, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The show will focus on the lead character’s life, who runs a business providing assisted-suicide services.
Exit Plans will take place in 2019 where assisted suicide has been legalized. A man from California opens a small business helping people transition into death peacefully while struggling to keep hold of his own crumbling personal life. In other words, he’s trying to figure out his life while ending yours. In real life, California currently has a law on the books that has been challenged in the courts.

Simons will executive produce the project alongside Will Graham of Field Trip Productions.
Besides starring in HBO’s Emmy winning comedy series Veep as Jonah Ryan, Simons has also starred in Inherent Vice, The Interview, Draft Day, and Irreplaceable You, the comedy-drama starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michiel Huisman, Jacki Weaver, Kate McKinnon, Steve Coogan, and Christopher Walken. His latest project, Extracurricular Activities, is a comedy feature directed by Jay Lowi and is currently in post-production.
