The moment is finally here for the last chapter of Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps three-part DLC series. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining is now available, and it will conclude the story of Spider-Man vs Hammerhead.
The last chapter will have new story missions and side missions. So far each chapter featured three different women helping Spider-Man. The first chapter featured Black Cat, second had Yuri Watanabe, and the third is Silver Sable.
In Silver Lining, Sable is really furious about Hammerhead and his goons stealing her weapons, and she’s taking it personally. With emotions running high, she’ll do whatever it takes to get her weapons back, even if it means killing her enemies. Of course, Spider-Man can’t allow that to happen, so he’ll have to intervene to prevent her from exacting deadly revenge.
The conclusion to The City That Never Sleeps does feel lackluster since Hammerhead wasn’t an interesting enough villain. Characters that were introduced in the previous chapters feel like an afterthought in the last chapter, and they could have benefited from more character development.
Spider-Man does get to become a civilian in this chapter as Peter Parker, and swinging around as Peter was fun although shortlived. As with the other DLC chapters, the enemies are a lot tougher compared to the story missions from the base game. Spider-Man will be dealing with enemies surrounding him with melee weapons, guns and jetpacks. It can get overwhelming as you’re trying to dodge everything that’s coming your way. However, if you like a challenge, then this is definitely for you. A good tip is to use Spidey’s gadgets whenever possible.
With the side missions, Screwball is back and causing Spider-Man headaches. However, since this is the last chapter, that means there is an end to her story. It’s very satisfying, especially if you’re not a fan of the character and her social media followers.
The previous chapters had 3 new outfits each, but with the release of Silver Lining, there will be 4 outfits available. If you pre-order Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on PlayStation Store, you’ll get Peter Parker’s Spider-Man suit. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man suit is also available.
With new outfits and new missions, it’ll definitely is another reason to jump back into the world of Marvel’s Spider-Man. However, don’t expect much with the ending since it does feel abrupt and we do wish there was closure for certain characters.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining is available for $9.99 on PlayStation Store. If you haven’t tried any of the chapters yet, you can get the Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps bundle for $24.99.
