Crunchyroll announces 3rd Annual Anime Awards

In just a few weeks 2018 will come to an end, which means that the awards season will be here. Oscars, Golden Globes, SAG, and the Grammys are some of the awards that will be given out in the early part of 2019, all highlighting the best in TV, movies, and music.

One thing for certain is that anime will be overlooked by the awards community. Thankfully Crunchyroll has that covered with its upcoming 3rd annual Anime Awards, which will give anime fans a show that will recognize the best anime movies and TV shows that played during the past year.

The upcoming 3rd Annual Awards will be presented by the soon to be released “Devil May Cry 5” as Capcom has jumped on board as the title sponsor. The Judges and Categories of the Anime Awards will be announced mid-December, with the voting period to begin in January.

Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards will celebrate 2018’s best and brightest in Japanese animation. The categories will honor fans favorite series, characters, moments, and more that happened in anime during 2018. Last years awards brought in 2.1 million votes across 17 different categories.

Voting will begin on January 11th and will end of January 18th. Winners will be announced via live stream on February 16th, during an event filmed in San Francisco.
