New Line and It producer Dan Lin set to haunt audiences with Dear David

New Line has won a bidding war for the viral ghost story “Dear David,” written by former BuzzFeed writer Adam Elis, according to Collider.

The site mentions that BuzzFeed Studios had partnered with It producer Dan Lin and his Rideback banner to produce the film back in June, but it still needed a distributor. After a prolonged negotiation period, New Line eventually beat out Paramount Players for the project.

It was a massive success that stemmed from Lin’s guidance. There’s plenty of reason to think he can take Ellis’ simple tale and turn it into a fun night at the movies.
