Rick and Jenna

The Purge Season 1 Episode 5

One of the servers took Jenna aside and told her to take Rick and leave Stanton’s house. Mrs. Stanton initiated dessert at the party and Mr. Stanton gave a great toast to his wife’s accomplishments. Due to a highly successful year of fundraising for the Stanton’s, three people were brought in for the guests to kill. Weapons were handed out by the wait-staff and Rick took a large knife. Rick found Jenna upstairs and the pair heard a covert-ops team invading the Stanton estate. One of the waitresses allowed Rick and Jenna to escape through the cellar, as the bloodshed raged on inside the house.

Jane

The Purge Season 1 Episode 5

Jane continued to attempt to call her boss, but he didn’t pick up. All of the Saints, then related their Purge night horror stories to Jane. The Matrons arrived at a house and used a taser on a man attacking a woman. The Matrons took the woman out of the house and began to start the punishment process for the man. It involved branding him with a hot iron. Jane was disgusted by this and left. She went to a nearby parking garage and stole the aforementioned husband’s car. She drove off in search of her boss’ house. Jane arrived at her boss, David’s house and was immediately let in.

Miguel

The Purge Season 1 Episode 5

Rex and Miguel finally arrived at the Carnival of Flesh and were immediately attacked by a group of Purgers. They were quickly fought off, but Rex was injured. He freed the mother and son that Rex had taken prisoner. Miguel stole Rex’s Carnival badge so that he could gain access to the Carnival. Miguel arrived at the Carnival and traded Rex in so that he would be sold in the auction. Rex awoke and successfully persuaded his way out of the auction, as one of the guards recognized him. Miguel was taken prisoner by the guards and Henry offered to buy him as well.

Penelope

The Purge Season 1 Episode 5

Penelope was taken by carnival officials into a tent where Henry began his treatment. Henry first lit a joint with a blowtorch, he then proceeded to question Penelope about her feelings towards him. When she refused to answer Henry used chloroform to render Penelope unconscious. In a flashback, we learn about how Penelope and Henry dated in high school and how Henry got her hooked on drugs. Back in the present, Henry related to Penelope that he, unsurprisingly, wanted to kill her and relieve the anger he had towards her. Penelope expressed her feelings about the Purge and how useless it was. She then gave Henry permission to kill her and he fired up the blowtorch.
