The Good Place Season 3 Episode 3 Recap
In the previous episode of The Good Place, Trevor attempted to tear the study group apart and Michael and Janet were permanently put on Earth to thwart Trevor’s efforts. What does this next installment have in store? Let’s find out as we recap The Good Place season 3 episode 3 ‘The Snowplow!’
Cupcake Time
Michael and Janet arrived on Earth and had taken the Doorman’s key, rendering it impossible for anyone to follow them. The Judge called them and warned them that they were in great trouble if they returned to her realm. Michael and Janet took up residence in the journalism department of Chidi’s university. The study continued, without Trevor as he had been banished from Earth. Simone arrived with a box of cupcakes to celebrate the arrival of funding from the neuroscience department.
Three months later, Eleanor went to Chidi and informed him that she was now broke and needed a job of some sort. Michael and Janet hatched a plan and went to the gas station and bought a scratch-off ticket that Janet knew was a winner. They planted it outside of Eleanor’s apartment and she promptly won $18,000. Three more months later, Jason was struggling to stay awake during class because of having to stay up late to watch football games. Tahani agreed to watch the games with him, as she was physically attracted to him. Michael and Janet resolved to set Tahani up with a different man, as well as get the study group new computers.
Engagement Party
Six months later, Tahani announced her engagement to Larry Hemsworth and Michael decided to interrupt again. At the engagement party, Jason angered Larry by mentioning his more famous brothers. Michael and Janet attempted to convince Larry to stay in Australia instead of leaving for London. Larry resolved to leave for London after being offended by Michael’s conversation. Chidi and Simone told Eleanor and Jason that they were going to let everyone go home and start the study again with new subjects.
Michael and Janet got wind of this news, and resolved to keep the group together. Michael went to talk to Eleanor, he managed to convince her with the help of some shrimp. Tahani asked for Eleanor to make a speech in honor of her engagement and Eleanor angrily dismantled the cake and stormed out of Tahani’s house.
Group Thought
After the party, Eleanor asked Simone about why she lashed out at everyone. Simone explained that it was a rather natural reaction based upon human psychology. After their conversation, Eleanor decided to go apologize to Tahani and the rest of the group. Tahani pitched the idea that all of them should have a reunion every year, in one of their respective homes. Michael decided to go back to the afterlife and reset the timeline on Earth. He and Janet began to leave when Eleanor and company walked in and noticed the door to the afterlife open.
