In the previous episode of BoJack Horseman, BoJack accidentally became a feminist icon, while standing up against his newest co-star, Vance Waggoner. Family Stuff
Princess Carolyn returned to her childhood home and found it in a decrepit and abandoned state, when she received a phone call from BoJack. He expressed his frustration over Mr. Peanutbutter being cast in his new show, but Carolyn calmed him down very quickly. Princess Carolyn visited with a teenage girl, Sadie, who was pregnant. Carolyn was, presumably visiting in order to get the adoption process started on this girl’s baby. Diane then called Carolyn and expressed her displeasure over her level of involvement with the TV show. Carolyn convinced Diane to offer her suggestions to Flip.
Princess Carolyn and Sadie bonded over their shared hometown. Mr. Peanutbutter then called Carolyn and asked if he would be able to change the dialogue that was written for him. Carolyn assured him that if he asked Flip, he would be able to make as many changes as he wanted. Carolyn, after remembering an interaction she had with her childhood neighbor, chased Sadie down and assured her that Carolyn wanted her baby more than anything.
Stuntwork
Sadie offered Carolyn an opportunity to help out at her flea market booth the next day, Carolyn agreed to help. The next day, BoJack expressed his frustration over Mr. Peanutbutter doing his own stunts. BoJack called Carolyn and asked her to re-hire his stunt double and Carolyn agreed to help him. At the flea market, Carolyn helped Sadie sell a jacket. Carolyn then reflected on her teenage years.
Carolyn was impregnated by her neighbor’s son. Carolyn’s mother assured her that she would be taken care of and gave Carolyn her prized necklace. Back in present times, Sadie took Carolyn to her church potluck and the two reflected on pregnancy. Back in the past, Cooper took Princess Carolyn to his father and Cooper’s father told Carolyn all of the things that will be expected of her. Carolyn agreed to the arrangement.
Unexpected Outcomes
In present day, Todd called and informed Princess Carolyn that BoJack had injured himself doing a stunt on set. Sadie’s boyfriend, Strib, drove into the dinner and proposed to Sadie, effectively taking Sadie’s baby off of the adoption table. Back in the past, Princess Carolyn admitted to her mother that she had a miscarriage and lost the baby. Cooper refused to marry her after this and Carolyn’s mother showed her that she got into UCLA. Carolyn related the story of her abandonment to Sadie and Sadie accused Carolyn of looking down on her. Carolyn disagreed, but Sadie refused to allow Carolyn to adopt her child.
