The Purge Season 1 Episode 3 Recap
In the previous episode of The Purge, Rick and Jenna confronted their romantic past, Miguel conquered an obstacle course, Jane recalled the harassment her boss put her through and Penelope comforted a girl facing death. Rick & Jenna
Lila, Stanton’s daughter, and Jenna were kissing passionately out by the pool. Jenna ended it quickly by revealing that she was pregnant. One of the servers found Rick and took him to Stanton. Stanton refused to negotiate until Jenna was in the room. Jenna was brought in by another server. They quickly began negotiating with Stanton. Rick and Jenna secured their funding and were presented with a captured person that they were going to have to kill. Stanton offered Rick a pistol, but he refused to kill the person. Stanton shot the person himself. They returned to the main party and Rick attempted to comfort Jenna after the events she had just witnessed.
Jane
Jane and her co-workers were informed that the deal they had been working on was closed. Everyone decided to celebrate, but Jane couldn’t stop thinking about the assassin she had hired. Jane’s boss video-called in order to vent his frustration at not being kept aware of the ongoing details of the deal. Someone arrived at his door and he dismissed everyone from working. Jane then went to her office for some privacy. She left the protected floor in order to go track down someone. Jane found one of her employees, Allison, stabbing her main competitor for a promotion.
Miguel
Miguel continued to attempt to convince Pete the cop to help him, but to no avail. He asked around the bar if any of the patrons had seen the bus that Penelope was on, but none of them had. Pete agreed to help in exchange for Miguel’s car. They quickly spotted the bus and Miguel went to go intercept it. He encountered a van of journalists out covering The Purge. He was interviewed by them about his experiences with The Purge. They dropped Miguel off and he continued on his journey towards the bus. Miguel found the bus and managed to climb aboard, but found that Penelope was no longer there. He soon learned that the nuns had taken her.
Penelope
The leader of the cult attempted to comfort the members by assuring them of their purpose. She called on Penelope to aid in the comforting. Penelope reinforced the ideas of the cult and the group agreed to allow Purgers to kill them. The leader informed the group that Penelope had been chosen as the next sacrifice and the bus continued on to its next stop. The bus arrived at its next stop and Penelope disembarked. Penelope was taken prisoner and driven off by a group of people in nun outfits.
