Deadline reports The Facts of Life reboot of the classic 1980’s sitcom is currently in the early developing stages at Sony Pictures Televison. Leonardo DiCarpio’s Appian Way (The Wolf of Wallstreet) and Jessica Biel’s Iron Ocean Films (The Tall Man) are in talks to produce the series.

The Facts of Life follows the lives of Edna Garrett, played by Charlotte Rae (Ricki and the Flash), and and four girls at the Eastland School which is an all-female boarding school in Peekskill, New York. The series dealt with the issues that teenage girls face such as drug use, sex, eating disorders and peer pressure. The rest of the main cast of The Facts of Life are Rae as Edna , Lisa Whelchel as Blair, Mindy Cohn as Natalie, Nancy McKeon as Jo and Kim Fields as Tootie.

The sitcom was created by Dick Clark and Jenna McMahon that aired on NBC from 1979 to 1988. The show was a spinoff series of Diff’rent Strokes and it became one of the longest-running sitcoms of the 1980s. It was also nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards over the course of its nine-year run, including lead actress in a comedy for Rae.

The Facts of Life is not the only 1980s sitcom that is getting a reboot. Recently, it was also reported that ALF reboot is being developed by Warner Bros. TV.
