Insatiable Season 1 Episode 8 Recap
In the previous episode of Netflix’s Insatiable, Patty and Christian had left the state and headed to Hollywood. The eighth episode begins with the young couple sharing a motel room.
“That Was Fun”
Patty’s first time was a disappointment. When she said, “I love you,” to Christian, he responded with, “That was fun.” At that moment, Patty realized that she made a mistake by running off with Christian. When Armstrong told Patty that she had the Miss Magic Jesus crown, it was the push she needed to head back to Georgia.
Triple Bypass
Armstrong’s father had a heart attack and needed triple bypass surgery. It brought Coralee and Armstrong back together, but they needed to work out their issues with liquor and radical honesty. But once they patched things up, Coralee admitted to sleeping with Shane, their massage therapist.
Leaner Wiener
Patty needed to pad her pageant girl resume and gain sponsors. With Wiener Taco under new management (Donald’s father), she and Armstrong pitched a Leaner Wiener campaign to provide healthier options. At the grand re-opening, things with Dixie came to a head. A fight broke out between the two girls. Dixie bit Patty with her pointy teeth, and Patty shoved her off the new food truck.
Pregnancy Bullet
When Patty missed her period, the pregnancy test came back positive. She had to make a decision, and none of the adults would make it for her. Pastor Mike got word of her predicament and was prepared to revoke Patty’s crown. But a trip to the hospital revealed that Patty was never pregnant.
Chimera
Patty had a teratoma, a tumor that was once her twin in utero, and it explained the false positive and lack of period. The doctor told her she could wait until after regionals for surgery. However, Pastor Mike was convinced the teratoma was the source of evil he felt in her and must be removed. During the incident with Dixie, Patty feared he was right.
Barnard & Armstrong
Armstrong’s father was retiring. Who would replace him at the firm? Barnard, of course. This seemed to be the final straw between the two Bobs. While Patty fought Dixie, the Bobs fought in the restroom. Barnard accidentally pulled off Armstrong’s toupee. Though Armstrong felt humiliation, Barnard told him he was beautiful and kissed him. The reason for their falling out was Barnard’s feelings for Armstrong, which he had harbored all this time. Armstrong kissed Barnard back, but when Barnard went to remove his shirt, as he does at least once an episode, it was too much for him.
