Insatiable Season 1 Episode 10 Recap
In the previous episode of Netflix’s Insatiable, Armstrong had gone to see Barnard at his house, and Patty had a meltdown at the anti-bullying assembly. Insatiable Season 1 Episode 10 began with the Bobs in bed together.
Compartmentalize
Armstrong was having a hard time with leading a double-life. Barnard’s advice was to compartmentalize. Armstrong didn’t think he could follow that advice, especially when Coralee moved back into their house. He was nervous that someone, especially Coralee, would find out about him and Barnard. Barnard wasn’t helping since he was determined to court Armstrong.
Barnard visited Magnolia in rehab, who told him she overdosed because she witnessed Barnard sell her out to Armstrong. To be honest with Magnolia, Barnard came out to her but didn’t reveal his relationship with Armstrong. Still, Armstrong was beyond paranoid about who he’d tell next.
What Happened in Brazil?
Armstrong investigated what happened with Christian and his family in Brazil. With Barnard’s help, he discovered that Christian had tried to kidnap his girlfriend. The family did not press charges because the Keenes had agreed to leave the country. When Patty confronted him about it, he pushed Nonnie to the floor and forcefully grabbed Patty. Brick came to Patty’s rescue, and she invited him to her birthday party.
Tampazzle
Coralee was on a mission to come up with the next big idea. When she complained about being unable to find her tampon string, the idea hit her: a tampon with a tassle on the end of the string called Tampazzle.
The Roasting Throne
Patty had to deal with the aftermath of the school assembly. Armstrong suggested hosting a charity roast for Patty’s birthday. It would make Dixie happy and proceeds would go to buying Dixie an electric wheelchair.
The roast started off tame. But when Nonnie listed all the things Patty had made her do, Nonnie realized she didn’t think for herself where Patty was concerned. Upset after a fight with Nonnie and humiliated from the roast, the last straw for Patty was discovering the Bobs in a passionate kiss. She revealed their love affair to the entire party. Finally fed up with Patty, Armstrong called her ugly inside and said he was wrong about her.
The Truth
One thing was certain: Dixie wasn’t paralyzed. Like Patty had claimed, she had been faking it. She and Regina had been living out of a car since their home was foreclosed on. After being found out, Dixie made off with the money raised at the charity roast.
Gordy
Angie was back in touch with Gordy, her mother’s boyfriend from when she was Patty’s age. Could he be Patty’s father? When he showed up to Patty’s roast, Angie tipped off Nonnie’s cop father about the drugs in his car. With Gordy arrested, Angie stole his car “Kitty”, leaving Patty to her own devices. This was somehow Angie trying to “be the adult”.
Getting Sheet-Faced
With no mom, no best friend, no Armstrong, and no boyfriend, Patty celebrated her birthday by herself in her “getting sheet-faced” ritual. The episode ended as she dove into a sheet cake with tears running down her face.
