All About Nina trailer: Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as a stand-up comic
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Fargo) shines as a raunchy stand-up comic who has to face her personal demons in the new All About Nina trailer.
Nina Geld (Winstead) is an up-and-coming comedian in New York City. She’s funny, smart and has worked hard to build a career for herself in the male-dominated world of stand-up. When it comes to romantic relationships though, Nina’s life is a mess. Nina decides to focus on work and later gets Larry Michaels, producer of the legendary television show Comedy Prime to come see Nina’s stand-up.
After he asks Nina to audition, she has to move to L.A. and create characters an impersonations. After some personal drama, she has a breakdown on stage and reveals a history of abuse that has driven her reckless behavior. Finally confronting the truth in such a public setting has terrifying and unexpectedly liberating consequences.
All About Nina marks the debut of first time writer-director Eva Vives. The film also stars Common (John Wick: Chapter 2), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Clea DuVall (The Handmaid’s Tale), Kate del Castillo (Jane The Virgin), and Beau Bridges (Black-ish).
All About Nina will arrive in theaters on September 28th.
