Infinity War featurette chronicles growth of Marvel Cinematic Universe
To celebrate the upcoming 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the titular movie studio has released a video featurette with interviews from various cast members, directors and producers involved in bringing the movies to life.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been one of the most prolific and celebrated franchises since its debut in 2008 and it has all been leading to Infinity War and the upcoming untitled Avengers 4 that will conclude the majority of the films and storylines that have come prior.
Some of the most recurring and praised people behind the camera of the films, including Jon Favreau, James Gunn and Kevin Feige, discussed how they went from testing this series out as an experiment to finding new ways to break ground in the comic book genre. The actors featured in the video noted how monumental the franchise has become and how honored they’ve been to be a part of the movies and to bring these characters to life and the positive reception they’ve received from the fans.
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Confirmed cast members for Avengers: Infinity War so far include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olson, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Sean Gunn, Tom Holland, Paul Rudd, and Josh Brolin.
Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Trinh Tran, Jon Favreau, James Gunn, and Stan Lee are executive producing the project written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
Infinity War will hit theaters April 27!
