Shadow of the Tomb Raider teaser trailer shows Mayan setting

Shadow of the Tomb Raider thumb

There have been rumors that a new Tomb Raider game is coming out, and today Square Enix has officially announced Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the third of the reboot series. It will bring back Lara Croft, and this time it looks like she will be on a Mayan adventure, judging from the look of the temples and forests. In addition, the release date has also been revealed with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions coming out on September 14, 2018. That’s great news for PlayStation 4 owners since they don’t have to wait a year like Rise of the Tomb Raider.

There will be more information revealed on April 27, so mark your calendars.

Back at Gamescom 2015, Square Enix head Phil Rogers mentioned that there was a third game in the works. The Shadow of the Tomb Raider title was seen during a PowerPoint presentation, with Square Enix confirming that the third in the series is coming last year in December.

It’s a week of Tomb Raider hype, especially with the Tomb Raider movie coming out this weekend. You can check out Nerd Reactor’s Eddie Villanueva’s review of the film here.

Personally, I’m excited for the game and want to wash the bad taste of the film out of my mouth. I thought the film suffered from pacing issues, too many exposition scenes, and not enough mystery about the Yamatai island.
