Pierre Morel to helm sci-fi thriller The New Mrs. Keller
Lakeshore Entertainment announced today that Pierre Morel (Taken, The Gunman) will direct sexy sci-fi thriller The New Mrs. Keller, starring Danish actor Claes Bang (The Square) as the male lead. Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, and Eric Reid will produce, with principal photography commencing this October. Casting is currently underway for the title role of Mrs. Vera Keller.
Set in the near future, smart, beautiful, and sophisticated, Vera Keller is far more than she seems as she ensares her husband, prominent surgeon Dr. David Keller, in a tense deception. Virtual reality intertwines with reality as David’s world unravels.
The screenplay was written by tyro Mark Hogan, and Lakeshore acquired the spec screenplay in a competitive bidding war in late 2017. The New Mrs. Keller will see Lakeshore continuing their successful collaboration with Morel, who is currently in post-production on Lakeshore and STX’s upcoming Jennifer Garner-led action thriller, Peppermint, which will be released on September 7, 2018.
Besides his work in the Academy Award-nominated foreign-language film The Square, Bang is also working as the new lead in the latest installment of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo franchise, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, starring alongside Claire Foy (The Crown).
