Nearing the end of Earth’s lifespan, mankind needs to find a new home to continue its existence. Netflix’s The Titan presents this apocalyptic scenario, resting all hope for the species’ survival in a group of men and women set to undergo a life-changing experiment. In the near future, a military family uproot their lives so they can participate in a ground-breaking experiment to accelerate man’s genetic evolution. The goal? To relocate humanity to another planet and avoid extinction.
The Titan stars Sam Worthington (The Shack, Avatar), Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black, Take Me), Tom Wilkinson (Selma, John Adams) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones, The Fate of the Furious).
Lennart Ruff is the director of the film. It’s based on an original story by Arash Amel adapted for the big screen by Max Hurwitz.
The movie has been in production for quite some time, with casting news that had Ruth Wilson attached to the project dating back to 2015. It was originally meant for a wide theatrical release, but it eventually found its home on the digital streaming/video-on-demand platform.
The Titan launches on Netflix on March 30, 2018.
