“The blood will be on your hands…the fallout of all your good intentions…”
It’s safe to say that with his age, Tom Cruise should be one of those actors who, having an incredible portfolio of films under his belt, should be taking the easier, more relaxed roles. Nope, apparently Tom didn’t get the memo. Oh well.
This weekend, amidst the football-induced consumption of nachos and the pigs in a blanket, we were lucky to have seen the release of a few much anticipated movie trailers. I’m not going to lie: Mission: Impossible – Fallout was not at the top of my list. Tom Cruise seems – in my mind – to be at the end of a very short rope of films he’s still able to perform in, and the Mission: Impossible franchise is one that I think needs some fresh new blood. Well, I have my words on my plate right now, salted and ready for my consumption, because this latest trailer is pretty frickin’ awesome! Check it out:
It’s insane, and that’s not even the half of it! While shooting the film, many trained eyes took to the internet to point out a very specific point in the trailer that happens that just highlights how so not-done Tom Cruise is with this work.
At the 2:11 mark in the trailer, Tom actually does his own stunt of jumping from a ledge on to another roof. This isn’t out of the ordinary for Tom, as he tends to do a lot of these stunts anyways. What makes this scene incredible, however, is that if you look closely, Tom actually BREAKS HIS ANKLE while landing, yet still gets up to finish the scene! Take a look below:
So, yeah, needless to say, I’m excited about this movie! And even though I say it every time another Mission: Impossible movie comes out, I still have to admit the one truth of them all: Tom Cruise is a bad-ass.
