Atlanta Comic Con makes it debut July

By Stephanie Set

A new CONtender has emerged in the Atlanta comic convention scene, aptly named Atlanta Comic Con.

Atlanta Comic Con debuts on July 13-15, 2018, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Tickets range from $30-$60, and kids 12 and under are admitted for free.

Atlanta Comic Con is produced and promoted by Imaginarium LLC, which produces three other comic conventions around the country: Tampa Bay Comic Con, Indiana Comic Con, and San Francisco Comic Con.

Imaginarium LLC has come along way since its beginning. When Tampa Bay Comic Con first launched in 2010, it was a one-day event with only 550 attendees. Since then it has grown to 50,000 attendees and is cited as one of the largest pop-culture conventions in the southeast.

In coming to Atlanta, it is entering a space that is already occupied by several other popular conventions. However, it is proving to be a fair contender. With 5 months still to go, it already gained over 18,000 followers on Facebook and over 7,000 attendees interested in its Facebook event.

The guests announced so far include Matthew Lewis (Neville, Harry Potter), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura, Star Trek), as well as notable voice actors and comic book creators.

For information regarding hours, guests announced so far, programming, and other details about Atlanta Comic Con, visit AtlantaComicCon.com.
