Playing Snipperclips with the Joy-Cons certainly feels like the way the game is meant to be played, but some players would like the option to tackle the game using the Joy-Con Grip configuration, or the Switch Pro Controller. In an interview with IGN, Nintendo’s Assistant Manager of Product Development Todd Buechele said the support is on the way.
“We actually have always wanted to support them, even from the beginning. It was just something that we ended up having to shelve at the time, and that was actually one of the key targets when we looked at Snipperclips Plus. It will actually be a default in Snipperclips Plus, and then we are releasing a patch for Snipperclips next week that will bring Pro Controller and Grip support to all players who have already downloaded the game. It’s a free update, so that capability will be there very soon.”
Whether you have the original Snipperclips, you're getting the add-on content, or you're buying the new retail release of Snipperclips Plus, you'll have support for the new controller methods mentioned above.
