Nintendo/Game Freak/Creatures Inc. register Tokyo-related trademarks

Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures are up to something. The three companies just joint-registered 3 trademarks, and they all have to do with Tokyo. The names are “Tokyo SP”, “Tokyo EX”, and “Tokyo DX”. Anyone want to figure out what these are all about? It's obvious that Pokemon is involved in some way, but beyond that, we have no idea what these are all about!
