Fear Effect Sedna coming in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC

Fear Effect Sedna

Fear Effect came out for the PlayStation and featured a cool cel-shading style with lively backgrounds thanks to looped full-motion videos. The game’s background files were so big that it had to be split into 4 different CDs. Now fast-forward about 18 years later, and we have news that a new game, Fear Effect Sedna, is coming out next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Square Enix has officially supported the game’s Kickstarter page, which has reached its goal of €100,000.

Fans of the original will notice that the new gameplay will be different, with French developer Sushee opting for an RTS gameplay instead of the original action-adventure combat with controls similar to Resident Evil. Hana and Rain will be back, with the game taking place four years after the events of the canceled Fear Effect 3. John Zuur Platten, who wrote and directed the first game, is back to continue the story.

You can check out the gameplay video below.

Oh, and if you aren’t a fan of RTS for the Fear Effect universe, don’t worry. Sushee will also be working on the HD remake of the first game, Fear Effect Reinvented, which will be coming out in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Switch.
