Battle at the Pokemon Europe International Championships in London

The Pokémon TCG and Video Game Europe International Championships are the first International Championships of the 2018 season. This amazing event will take place at the ExCeL London convention center from November 17–19, 2017. It will feature high Championship Point payouts and a prize pool value of up to $250,000 (based on attendance), spread between the Pokémon TCG and video game competitions.

Anyone in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program can participate! Players can find more information on the Play! Pokémon Rules and Resources page.

The Masters Division competitions will begin Friday, November 17, and go through Sunday, November 19. Junior and Senior Division competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Badges

Entry to this event will require a badge for all attendees, including competitors in the main event and spectators. Children age 5 and under do not need to be registered as spectators. See the registration section for details.

Hall Hours

The tournament hall is open to the public on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until each day's tournament rounds have concluded.

Main Events

To participate in a main event, players must register in advance. Players must also check in prior to the beginning of the tournament and pick up a competitor badge.

Pokémon TCG and video game Masters Division players will start at 9 a.m. Friday. Play will continue with Swiss rounds on Saturday, followed by the Top 8 round on Saturday evening. The Top 4 and final rounds will take place on Sunday.

Pokémon TCG and video game Junior and Senior Division players will start their competition at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Top 8 will take place Saturday evening. The Top 4 and final rounds will occur on Sunday.

Entry fee for the Main Event includes a competitor badge, lanyard, player pin, promo card, deck box, set of card sleeves, and either a playmat (for Pokémon TCG competitors) or a hat (for video game competitors).

Side Events

Players must have a spectator badge to participate in side events.

Side events will take place on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. A detailed schedule will be announced later. Additional entry fees may apply.

Registration

Online registration is available for both Pokémon TCG and video game competitors. The registration fee is £45 for Masters Division players and £30 for Junior and Senior Division players.

Masters Division online registration closes at 9 p.m. Thursday, November 16. On-site registration will be open from 7–9 p.m. Thursday or until capacity is reached.

Junior and Senior Division online registration closes at 9 p.m. on Friday, November 17. On-site registration will be open from 7–9 p.m. Friday or until capacity is reached.

All registered competitors under age 18 will also receive a spectator badge and lanyard, at no additional charge, for one parent or guardian. Any additional spectator badges must be purchased.

Spectator registration will be available online and on site until badges sell out. The cost for spectator badges is £10. Children age 5 and under do not need to be registered as spectators.

Spectators will receive two English-language Pokémon TCG booster packs when they pick up their badge. For everyone who signed up online, a registration confirmation email will be required to pick up spectator badges. (The email will be sent after spectator registration is completed via the registration website.) A maximum of six spectator badges may be purchased at one time.

Check-In / Entry to the Venue

Access to the venue requires either a competitor badge or a spectator badge.

Please contact Customer Service for accessibility requirements and companion badges.

All players in the main event are required to check in prior to the tournament:

Pokémon TCG and video game Masters Division players can check in between 7 and 9 p.m. Thursday, November 16.

Pokémon TCG and video game Senior and Junior Division players can check in between 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, November 17.

Players can pick up their participation items during their age division's check-in time on Thursday or Friday evening.

Late check-in is possible before the hall opens, between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Friday for Masters Division players and between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Saturday for Senior and Junior Division players. Players who choose late check-in can pick up their participation items at the Info Point starting at noon that day.

Any player who misses the late check-in period but checks in by 9 a.m. will be added to the tournament with a Round 1 loss. Any player who has not checked in by 9 a.m. will be dropped from the tournament and will be unable to compete. (They can still pick up their participation items and enter the event space.)

Formats

Pokémon TCG players will compete using the Standard format, and they are allowed to use English-language cards, as well as cards from their home market in languages other than English. Video game players will compete using Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon; all regions and language versions of the games are permitted. Players' Nintendo 3DS systems need to be updated with the most recent patch and software version.
