Fans of Batman: The Animated Series may already have the series on DVD, but if you have been patiently waiting all these years for an HD remaster, then your time has come. During the series’ 25th anniversary panel at New York Comic Con, Warner Bros. announced that a remastered version will be available on Blu-ray in 2018. Those lucky to attend got the chance to receive a DVD copy of the series. I guess it’s out with the old and in with the new.
There aren’t many details available, like whether or not the Batman: The Animated Series Blu-ray will be released as a complete set or separated in volumes. Will it be in standard HD, or will fans get to see the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray? The Batman & Harley Quinn animated movie had a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version.
Batman: The Animated Series is beloved by many, and its legacy is still seen today with Kevin Conroy playing Batman and Mark Hamill as Joker in the Batman: Arkham series and the recent Warner Bros. animated films.
It is unknown at this time if this re-mastered edition will be Blu-ray only, or if even more high-end formats such as 4k Ultra HD Blu-Ray would be included. The recent Batman & Harley Quinn animated film was released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray.
