Stephen King talks about his involvement in ‘It’

Stephen King

The reboot of the ’80s horror book turned film It has hit theaters today. Originally written by Stephen King, one of the masters of horror, the new version of his classic horror film did not involve him at all, according to an interview King by Variety.

“I wasn’t involved at all. I wished them well. Geez, I don’t even think they sent me any swag from that one! But maybe that’s a good thing. I’ve seen it, it’s fabulous.”

Stephen King is currently working on his show, Mr. Mercedes, which is an original series for the AT&T network. King is also known for his work on The Dark Tower, Carrie, The Shining, Salem’s Lot, The Green Mile, Cujo, The Mist, Under the Dome, Pet Cemetary, Christine, and countless other books that have changed the way we look at horror films and books.

IT official synopsis: Seven young outcasts in Derry, Maine, are about to face their worst nightmare — an ancient, shape-shifting evil that emerges from the sewer every 27 years to prey on the town’s children. Banding together over the course of one horrifying summer, the friends must overcome their own personal fears to battle the murderous, bloodthirsty clown known as Pennywise.

You can see It in theaters everywhere, and Mr. Mercedes is available via the AT&T network Audience.
