Wonder Woman is a huge hit with fans and critics, and it made Warner Bros. very happy with its box office numbers. Soon fans will get to see how the iconic Amazon warrior was created in the upcoming biographical film, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. A new clip has been released by Annapurna Pictures and shows Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston sharing his idea of Wonder Woman to his wife Elizabeth Marston and their lover Olive Byrne.
Check out the clip below as both Mrs. Marston and Byrne question Marston about his Amazon princess idea, bulletproof bracelets, and an invisible plane.
SYNOPSIS
In a superhero origin tale unlike any other, the film is the incredible true story of what inspired Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston to create the iconic Wonder Woman character in the 1940’s. While Marston’s feminist superhero was criticized by censors for her ‘sexual perversity’, he was keeping a secret that could have destroyed him. Marston’s muses for the Wonder Woman character were his wife Elizabeth Marston and their lover Olive Byrne, two empowered women who defied convention: working with Marston on human behavior research — while building a hidden life with him that rivaled the greatest of superhero disguises.
The film stars Luke Evans as Dr. William Moulton Marston, Rebecca Hall as Elizabeth Marston, and Bella Heathcote as Olive Byrne. It is directed and written by Angela Robinson.
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women hits theaters on October 13, 2017. And before that, it will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
