Marvel’s The Punisher‘s marketing team is on FULL FORCE today as they began to tweet out mysterious Morse codes.
A total of 13 tweets were issued out and we can assume they are the title for the 13 episodes. Of course, fans got involved and quickly translated the code – or by using a simple Morse code translator.
Check out the Morse translations and what we think it may be below:

Morse translation: 3 AM
I’m guessing this is the East Coast time of the release of the series. Poor East Coast people have to wait until it is midnight for us, West Coast people. If they put 12am, then it’d be obvious, right?

This tells me nothing.

Morse translation: Kandahar
Kandahar is the second-largest city in Afghanistan, where Frank apparently served in the past. This could possibly be a flashback episode of his military life and training.

Again, nothing.

Morse translation: Gunner
This was Frank’s position in the military. This could be another flashback episode.

Morse translation: The Judas Goat
A Judas goat is a trained goat used in animal herdings like sheep or cattle. According to author Perry Stone of The Judas Goat, “A Judas goat is an actual goat that is raised with the sheep in the field; eating with them, sleeping with them, and generally gaining their trust. When the time comes to lead the sheep into the slaughterhouse, the sheep will follow the Judas goat into specially marked pens, the back of trucks, and in some instances into the slaughterhouse itself.”

Morse translation: Crosshairs
There are so many definitions for this. According to the dictionary, Crosshairs means being aimed at by a gun (such as a rifle) that has an aiming device with crosshairs —often used figuratively. So, either Frank or someone else is caught in the crosshairs. Probably Karen Page.

Morse translation: Cold Steel
Cold Steel is a company that sells knives, including for military and for Hollywood sets. Hey, maybe they’re using them on this show.

Morse translation: Front Toward Enemy
This is written on M18 Claymore mines, which is a directional anti-personnel mine developed for the United States Armed Forces. Again, another military thing.

Morse translation: Virtue of the Vicious
The only thing I could think of with this title is a quote by Oscar Wilde – “Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious.” My interpretation of the quote is that everyone feels justified in their reasoning to do the things they do. They may think they are being patriotic or right, but in another perspective, it is not. This does tie in a lot with Frank and his justification for his killings.

Morse translation: Danger Close
Danger Close means close proximity distance of friendly fire or forward observer from the impact point of the target. This could be about the allies that Frank will be having with him.

Morse translation: Memento Mori
This is Latin for “Remember, you have to die.” It’s a reminder to reflect on mortality. This is definitely something that Frank should remember.
After they revealed the title names, The Punisher released a teaser intro from the series.
