Recently, I've seen quite a few people saying that Spawny's mask in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle looks like the mask in the animated film Laputa: The Castle in the Sky. Someone reached out to Ubisoft's Davide Soliani about the similarities, and it turns out the mask is a direct homage!

Now someone familiar with the film is going to have to hunt down the other reference. I'm no help, since I've never seen the film. Looks like I have to change that!
