Keep in mind, this is the same many who very, VERY heavily hinted that Final Fantasy XV was coming to Switch in some way. Whatever way Square-Enix has planned, it sounds like it's a bit different than the Pocket Edition. Furthermore, Tabata pointed out that Pocket Edition doesn't even have traditional controller support, as it's made for phones/tablets.
