Comic-Con attendees, be prepared to be tested!
Fox is bringing their upcoming Marvel drama The Gifted to San Diego Comic-Con this week with their X-Gene Screening Station at the Hilton Bayfront Lawn where Comic-Con attendees can test for the X-Gene.
Attendees will enter the station and be laser-scanned and receive a full check up via cheek swab genetic test by a ‘nurse’. Once registered, fans will receive an “I got Tested” sticker or an “M” sticker if they do find the mutant gene in you. Those who do have the special gene will be able to share a photo in an exclusive Wanted poster. Those who are not mutants will stand behind the “I got tested” backdrop provided. In addition to that, fans will receive additional information about their personal genetic profile online six weeks later.
But, wait! There’s more! Fox plans to promote the series throughout the Gaslamp area for Sentinel Services through PSAs, wanted posters, and even online through their in-depth Sentinel Services website and social media.
Opposing the Sentinel Services, #MutantsUnite will launch their own resistance messages through PSAs and hidden geo-fenced Snapchat filters and a Facebook AR experience.
During the FOX Upfronts in New York in May, Sentinel Services agents were around Manhattan leaving Wanted posters around. San Diego Comic-Con will have the same amount, if not more, advertisements all around Gaslamp.
Fox’s The Gifted centers around a suburban couple (Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker) who are on the run from the Sentinel Services after discovering their children possess mutant powers. The family joins up with an underground network of mutants who must fight to survive. The series also stars Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Blair Redford, Sean Teale, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, and Jamie Chung.
