Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica to reunite at San Diego Comic-Con

Syfy has announced the creator and cast of Battlestar Galactica will reunite at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Creator Ronald D. Moore and cast members Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff, Mary McDonnell, and Grace Park have been announced so far. There has been word that more will be announced as the convention grows closer. The cast and creator were recently reunited at the ATX Festival last month.

2004’s Battlestar Galactica, which ran for four seasons, was an updated re-imaging take of the 1978 series. It began in 2003 as a miniseries event but were given the green light for a series. The series followed human survivors of a nuclear holocaust who must fight against the Cylons, life-like android humans that turned against the humans who created them. The acclaimed series earned 22 Emmy nominations and won three. It also won a Peabody Award in 2005 and the TV Critics Association’s Program of the Year in 2009. It gained a cult following with fans from all over the world.

 

Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica reunion panel is set for Thursday, July 20th at 2:30 p.m. in Ballroom 20.

Battlestar Galactica official synopsis:

Considered by many to be one of the best television series ever made, Battlestar Galactica picks up just as Cylons – intelligent robots designed by humankind – commit mass genocide against humanity. Only Battlestar Galactica, the last of the Colonial Fleet, survives the attack. Driven by prophetic visions and political necessity, the Galactica travels through uncharted space in hopes of finding the mythical, lost 13th colony – Earth.
