Jeremy Renner broke both arms during movie stunt

Jeremy Renner Hawkeye Avengers
Jeremy Renner recently broke bones in both his arms during a movie stunt. However, the movie in question may come as a bit of a surprise for the man who is best known as Jason Bourne v2 and Hawkeye. He broke these bones while shooting the low-budget New Line comedy, Tag. As first reported by Variety, the actor mentioned during the Karlovy Vary Film Festival that he fractured his right elbow and left wrist while filming.

Renner assured media that these injuries would not likely delay any of his projects currently in flightSaid Renner:

“I’m doing a job [Tag] that isn’t really requiring a ton of stunts. It’s not an action movie; it’s a comedy. It just happens to have a few stunts in it. So I don’t have to beat a whole lot of people up or do anything crazy. So it won’t really affect my job. … It affects how I get dressed in the morning. I can’t tie my shoes, but outside of that and everything else, I can kind of get by. I’m sort of a problem solver, you know. There will be an effect to it, but it won’t stop me from doing things that I need to be doing.”

Jeremy Renner has been as busy as any actor in Hollywood, as a member in three separate billion-dollar franchises (Jason Bourne, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Mission Impossible). So it is unlikely that something as minor as a few broken bones would slow him down. And if Hawkeye can’t quite fire his bow and arrow as well as he did in the first two movies, well, they’ll just fix it in post.

Tag is a small film that will be releasing in theaters in June of next year. It follows former classmates who organize an elaborate game of tag that has them traveling across the country. The Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
