Carnage and Venom have always been two of the deadliest, if not scariest, adversaries for Spider-Man over the years. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carnage will appear in the Venom film. To what degree? We are unsure. But it is possible that both Spider-Man and Carnage will have a role in the film starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. According to one of THR’s sources, Tom Holland is only contractually obligated to appear in the 3 Spider-Man films. But they plan to have him in spinoffs and definitely other Marvel films such as Avengers: Infinity War.
This could mean we could see the trifecta in the Spider-Man mythos with Peter Parker, Venom, and Carnage all on one screen at the same time. By this point, Holland’s Peter Parker should be a bit more mature but still young. In addition, fans shouldn’t expect Venom to follow the John Hughes-style like Spider-Man: Homecoming. According to people who have seen the latter, it has hit the nail on the head.
Maximum Carnage Storyline
Could a sequel to Venom follow the Maximum Carnage storyline? That story was a 1993 fourteen-part comic book crossover published in Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man family of comics. It featured Spider-Man, Venom, Captain America, Iron Fist, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Cloak and Dagger, and others. Together they teamed up to face Venom’s murderous offspring Carnage, aka Cletus Kasady, and his team of super villains.
Venom, starring Tom Hardy, is expected to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
