Spider-Man Homecoming has had a lot of rumors circulating around the internet. One involves who former Disney star Zendaya is actually playing. Many believe she is playing Mary Jane. While others think she is playing Michelle, an unknown character that dropped last year. As a result during an interview with MTV News’ Gaby Wilson and Josh Horowitz while at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Zendaya cleared the air stating:
“My character is 100 percent Michelle. That’s her name. I promise you I’m not lying. And she’s definitely a different character. I think this is a character that I can have fun with and really create what I wanted to make her. The director had a lot of really cool ideas on how to make her weird, and interesting, and cool. She says weird things at the wrong time but I think that’s why people will like her. So it was nice. She is like my spirit animal, you know, like how I feel on the inside.”
Well, I guess that confirms that she is playing newcomer Michelle and not Mary Jane. But I am sure many will still doubt that. What do you guys think?
