As we said awhile back, the creator of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2D demake, which was based off a Nintendo prototype, was hit with a cease and desist. The creator will comply with Nintendo's request, but has said the game will live on without Zelda assets.
"The game isn't dead, I just won't be using the Zelda characters. It will live on. I'd rather have lots of people enjoy the nostalgia than keep it a tiny project that isn't a fangame."
In reference to the second part of the statement, the game's creator said he used the Zelda name/content to drum up attention for the project.
