Red Dead Redemption 2 pushed back from original Fall 2017 release

Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar Games had plans of releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 in the fall of 2017. However, the video game company has made a new announcement. The sequel will be coming in Spring 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

What’s the reasoning behind this? Rockstar wanted to put extra work in the game rather than releasing an inferior product. “Some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans,” said Rockstar.

This isn’t the first time Rockstar delayed a game. Grand Theft Auto V was originally set for release around March of 2013. It was later delayed with an actual release in September of 2013. The game later was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November of 2014. GTA Online was made available to players. As a result, the game has been going on strong thanks to players continuing to play online.

Finally, to help ease the pain for fans, Rockstar has released a bunch of new screenshots from Red Dead Redemption 2. These include wide shots of grasslands, night shots of a town, huge trees populating a forest, a man in a mask with the train’s steam surrounding him, and two very detailed revolvers. (I know there will be players excited to rob trains and put people on the railroad tracks again.)

“We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer,” Rockstar said in a post.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Developed from the Ground Up

In addition, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the first Rockstar game to be developed from the ground up for the current console generation (PS4, Xbox One). With that said and judging from the screenshots, the Western game is looking to be an epic tale.

Are you sad about Red Dead Redemption 2 being pushed back to Spring 2018? Are you happy that Rockstar Games is taking its time to deliver a better product? Let us know in the comments section below.
