Power. Strength. Fear. It’s everything that Vortigern yearns for. With the film set for release on Friday, Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow just released a brand new featurette for the film. For the most part, we see the complete backstory of how Vortigern (Jude Law) rose to power. In addition, we also see what drove Vortigern to sacrifice everything in order to acquire a force so indescribable that it takes over completely. So needless to say, that there are a lot of spoilers in this video. Either way, check it out!
The featurette reveals a lot of Vortigern’s backstory. Generally speaking, those of you more versed in Arthurian lore would recognize some of the similarities between Ritchie’s tale and the legends.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword stars Charlie Hunnam as Arthur, Jude Law as Vortigern, and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey as The Mage. The film also stars Djimon Hounsou as Bedivere, Aidan Gillen as Bill, and Eric Bana as Uther.
