Kingsman: The Secret Service pulled in over 400 millions dollars worldwide with a budget of around 80 million. The film was considered a big hit. With word of mouth traction and stellar reviews, the sequel is looking to create a buzz. It’s doing this via viral marketing by introducing an American Whiskey that will be introduced in the film. 20th Century Fox and Kingsman: The Golden Circle have added a behind-the-scenes short showcasing the bourbon and its involvement in the film. “America’s finest. Introducing Old Forester Statesman bourbon whiskey, available to enjoy this August. See #Kingsman: The Golden Circle in theaters September 22.”
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the sequel to Mark Millar and Dave Gibbon’s comic book turned film, Kingsman: The Secret Service. Returning to his role as Egsy is Taron Egerton. He’ll be back on the big screen with co-stars Sophie Cookson, Colin Firth, and Mark Strong. They’ll be joined by cast members Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, and Vinnie Jones.
Synopsis: Eggsy, Merlin, and Roxy head to the United States to join forces with Statesman, Kingsman’s American counterpart, after their headquarters is destroyed by Poppy, a notorious criminal mastermind and member of the secret group “The Golden Circle”.
The Start of Old Forester Statesman
According to Forbes, who spoke with Old Forester President Campbell Brown, he said, “Director Matthew Vaughn wanted the product of The Kingsman’s American counterpart to have a business that was as focused on craftsmanship and legacy as the bespoke business of the first film, and thus, the idea was born. As the oldest bottled bourbon in America, and the only bourbon to be bottled and sold before, during, and after Prohibition, Old Forester was the right partner to craft the line of whiskey… Our objective was to take what they’d used in the film, this fun, interesting, creative bourbon storyline, and bring it to life, So we’ve created an Old Forester Statesman product that is very different from the Old Forester that you would be buying today. It’s in an older sort of bottle, it’s a premium expression of what we make.”
The Statesman will be a line of premium whiskey by the Old Forester brand and will launch a few months before the sequel’s release.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will hit theaters on September 22, 2017.
