After THQ’s shutdown, we didn’t think it was possible. Their revival with THQ Nordic and a slew of remasters, gave us much more hope. Now it’s finally been revealed that Darksiders will get a third installment and a new protagonist: the third of the Four Horsemen, Fury.
This reveal came after a leak on Amazon, showing screenshots and a list of features the game provides.
- Play as FURY – a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth!
- Harness FURY’s magic to unleash her various forms – each granting her access to new weapons, moves and traversal abilities
- Explore an open-ended, living, free-form game world in which FURY moves back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the story
- Defeat the Seven Deadly Sins and their servants who range from mystical creatures to degenerated beings
- Darksiders signature art style – expansive post-apocalyptic environments that take the player from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell, dilapidated by war and decay and overrun by nature
Soon after these leaks, THQ Nordic revealed the first trailer through IGN, where they also announced that the game would be on IGN First for the month of May. This means that they will be visiting the developers at Gunfire Games to get a closer look inside the development of Darksiders III. Check out the trailer below.
If all goes according to plan, we will get to see at least one more game where you play as the fourth and final horsemen. For now though, let’s take the time to appreciate that a third one is coming. Darksiders III will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.
