Zelda: Breath of the Wild players still trying to leave the Great Plateau early

Can you leave the Great Plateau early? Yes you can, but not to the extent that you can actually run around. The game still phases you out and plops you back onto the Great Plateau. If this one step can be figured out, speedrunning is going to get another big boost. I don't doubt someone will figure out a way, but the question is, how long will it take them?!
