X-Men Blue to bring back two former team members

The ResurrXion event is in full swing at Marvel. The X-Men comic books have renumbered, yet again, after the Inhumans vs. X-Men storyline and it’s a fresh start for the mutants from here on. The overarching theme with the new books is ‘back to the basics’. Here the X-Men are acting as heroes and fighting crime instead of other superheroes. It’s fitting that we’ll see some old faces return to accompany this old school feel. The mutants Polaris and Emma Frost are expected to show up in the pages of X-Men Blue as revealed by Marvel Comics at C2E2.

Polaris

Polaris, whose real name is Lorna Dane, controls metal much like her father Magneto. First appearing in Uncanny X-Men #49, Polaris has been an on-again-off-again X-Man. This is while she has also been acting as a member of X-Factor. She was last seen during the “Last Days” story arc in Magneto’s solo series right before the Marvel universe collapsed and was reborn. She hasn’t been seen since.

Emma Frost

Emma Frost, aka The White Queen, first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 and was originally an enemy of the team as a member of the Hellfire Club. However, the telepathic, diamond-skinned mutant reformed over the years and eventually joined the X-Men and fell in love with team leader Cyclops. We’ve seen Emma much more recently than Polaris. In fact, in the recent Death of X and Inhumans vs. X-Men series, it was revealed that Emma Frost had secretly orchestrated the conflict between Inhumans and mutants. She fled in the aftermath of that war and now seems to be embracing her villainous persona once again with a huge target on her back.

Joining the returning mutants will be Jimmy Hudson, the son of the Ultimate Marvel universe version of Wolverine. He found himself in the main Marvel universe following Secret Wars.

X-Men Blue will follow the adventures of the original five X-Men who are time displaced in the present day after being brought here from the past by Beast. The first issue is already available.
