Mr. Shifty suffers from some framerate hiccups on the Switch, as a number of people have reported. Obviously, this has caused people to hit up the development team on Twitter. The thing is, the dev team is responding in a rather odd way.
For those wondering, Mr. Shifty was ported to Switch by by a 2-man team in Seattle working on behalf of their publisher. Team Shifty themselves don't have a dev kit for Switch, but the people handling the port do. In a Reddit AMA, here's what Team Shifty had to say about performance issues.
The Switch version has some trouble at times, more towards the end of the game. We're always working on performance improvements and will update it when we can. The performance improvements should benefit every version.
There are also reports of the dev saying things like "we'll do it when we can?", "yes we're actively working on it and expect to resolve the issue soon" and "we're working on a few things and we're pretty happy with the game as is, so any improvements are seen as a quality of life addition." I can't find those statements in the AMA anymore, so either they were never there to being with, or have since been removed.
