As if singing an Oscar nominated song in front of millions of people at the Academy Awards wasn’t enough, the talented Auli’i Cravalho has added another high profile gig to her rapidly growing resume. Deadline reports that Cravalho, who was introduced to the world as the voice of Disney’s animated smash, Moana has been cast in an upcoming NBC pilot, Drama High.
Although there is no guarantee that a pilot sees the light of broadcast, it is highly unlikely that this one doesn’t get a Fall time slot given it’s pedigreed producers, Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) and Jeffrey Seller (Hamilton). Adding the charismatic Cravalho into the mix can only add to this highly anticipated new show. Drama High is based on the book, Drama High, written by Michael Sokolove. It recounts the story of a high school drama department and the teacher who inspires them.
