Jovan Adepo and Wyatt Russell to star in J.J. Abrams-produced WWII thriller
Deadline reports that Jovan Adepo (Fences, The Leftovers) and Wyatt Russell (Everybody Wants Some!!, Black Mirror) are set to star in Overlord, an upcoming World War II set film from Paramount Pictures. Produced by J.J. Abrams, the film is written by Billy Ray (Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games) and Mark Smith (The Revenant) and will be directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun).
The outlet officially describes the film as follows: On the eve of D-Day, a group of American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success, but as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. They find themselves fighting against supernatural forces, part of a Nazi experiment.
Production on the film is set to begin in May in the UK.
