Martial artist Donnie Yen is tapped to star in the new feature film from Neal Moritz based on the popular Square Enix video game, Sleeping Dogs.
According to Deadline. Yen will play a Hong Kong undercover cop, Wei Shen, on a mission to take down the most dangerous and powerful criminal organizations in the world – the Sun On Yee Triad. Like the game, the film will have lots of action – martial arts, guns, racing, and much more.
Yen is no stranger to intense choreography as a trained fighter. He is famously known for his role as Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man in the Ip Man franchise. He also recently appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
Sleeping Dogs will be produced by Original Film and DJ2 Entertainment with Moritz, Dmitri Johnson, Dan Jevons, Toby Ascher, and Stephan Bugaj.
