Spring Comes Early with STORY OF SEASONS: Trio of Towns for 3DS

Torrance, Calif. — February 28, 2017 — XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that the latest standalone iteration in its beloved farming and life simulation series, STORY OF SEASONS: Trio of Towns, is now available in North America exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS™ family of systems, both physically at retailers and digitally via the Nintendo eShop, for a suggested retail price of $39.99. The release of Trio of Towns coincides with the 20-year anniversary of the Bokujo Monogatari series, now known as STORY OF SEASONS in the West, which has featured dozens of entries and sold millions of units worldwide. A new trailer released in celebration of today’s launch details some of the fresh features that players can look forward to.

At a press conference held in the in-game town of Westown today, breakout star “Capy-san” and series producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto addressed fans and reflected on the series’ 20-year anniversary:

“Hashimoto-senpai, what would you like to tell our fans today?” said Capy-san, the adorable in-game capybara pet and pocket plushie. “I’m so excited to meet my new farming friends, I could squeal! But I have to admit, I’m also kind of nervous…”

“Capy-san, I have utmost faith that our fans will take good care of you,” said Yoshifumi Hashimoto, producer of the Bokujo Monogatari series at Marvelous Inc. of Japan. “They are a wonderful bunch with a natural tendency to nurture, and I have been humbled by their outpour of support over the last 20 years. We craft each new STORY OF SEASONS adventure with them at the forefront of our minds, and my sincerest hope is that fans both new and returning will appreciate what we’ve added with Trio of Towns.”

STORY OF SEASONS: Trio of Towns reinvigorates the fan-favorite features on offer in the farming and life simulation series with fresh new content, significantly building upon its first entry since rebranding in the West as STORY OF SEASONS. In the long-running franchise’s biggest adventure yet, players settle on a homestead in the middle of three distinct and uniquely themed locales, where they can explore a diverse landscape as they search for new ways to grow their farms and friendships.

Extensive customization and gameplay options are also on offer in Trio of Towns, with each village offering its own variety of regional crops and livestock, lads and ladies to romance, pets to play with, festivals, furniture, decorations and more. More ways to play sprout up as players connect to one another locally or via the internet to chat, trade, and enhance items on a mysterious multiplayer island. Players can even boost their progress with four Super Mario Bros.™ themed costumes based on iconic characters Mario™, Luigi™, Princess Peach™ and Toad™, each with its own player-amplifying effect.

Developed in Japan by Marvelous Inc. and published in North America by XSEED Games, STORY OF SEASONS: Trio of Towns is now available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS in physical format at participating retailers and digitally in the Nintendo eShop. This game has been rated "E10+ for Everyone ages 10 and up” by the ESRB with the descriptors Comic Mischief, Suggestive Themes and Use of Alcohol.
